Abstract

After China improved its weapons capacity, tensions in the South China Sea was raised again in 2008. China’s increasing power triggered assertive, even unilateralist attitude. The increasing of disputes in the region marked by raising the capability of weapons, such as the purchase of an aircraft carrier that aims to maintain the security of the South China Sea. Therefore, the study took period in 2008-2011. However, this research also used the data to 2012 as supporting data, especially because the tensions in the South China Sea continue to increase during the early to mid-2012.
