Publication Ethics

Jurnal International & Diplomacy Universitas Satya Negara Indonesia commits to undergo a peer-reviewed process for articles it publishes to ensure that the manuscripts take appropriate scientific methods and can contribute to knowledge development. We believe that peer-reviewed articles reflect not only the quality of the authors, but also that of all parties involved in the process, from the editors, reviewers, to publishers. Therefore, it requires ethical standards for the aforementioned parties. As the publisher of Jurnal International & Diplomacy Universitas Satya Negara Indonesia, the Department of International Relations Universitas Satya Negara Indonesia ensures that they obey ethical standards when implementing their duties.

Duties of Editors

• Editors do fair play, meaning that they evaluate manuscripts without considering race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnicity, citizenship, and political insight of the author.
• Editors may not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher.
• Editors may not use unpublished materials in submitted manuscripts for their own research without the written consent of the author’s manuscripts.
• Editors are responsible for deciding which articles they want to publish.
• Editors must evaluate the originality of submitted manuscripts.
• Editors should use peer reviews fairly and wisely and explain the process to authors.
• Editors should select people with sufficient expertise to review articles considered for publication as well as avoid those with conflicts of interest.

Duties of Reviewers

• Reviewers help editors make editorial decisions.
• Reviewers can communicate with authors to help them improve their articles.
• Reviewers can refuse editors’ requests to review an article if they feel that they are unqualified to review it.
• Reviewers must treat the author’s manuscript confidentially. They are not allowed to show or discuss it with others.
• Reviewers must review the author’s manuscript objectively and may not give the author personal criticisms. Reviewers should provide clear supporting arguments to express their views.
• Reviewers may not use privileged information or ideas in the manuscripts for personal advantage.
• Reviewers should not consider manuscripts that have conflicts of interest.

Duties of Authors

• Authors should write their research accurately and discuss their results objectively.
• Authors should provide sufficient data and avoid inaccurate statements.
• If requested, authors should provide raw data for editorial review and give the public access to the data.
• Authors should properly acknowledge the works of others.
• Authors should limit authorship to those who have significant contributions and name them as co-authors.
• Authors should disclose the financial support that they receive when making the article.
• If authors find significant errors or inaccuracies in their published works, they should promptly notify editors and cooperate with the editors to retract or correct the works.
